BREAD TALK (SOURDOUGH EXPERIENCE)

Touch and smell the various stages of sourdough bread baking. Learn how to feed your starter, turn, knead and form the dough and taste freshly baked sourdough bread. Located in the lower level of the Fermentation Market.

 

KOMBUCHA WORKSHOP

11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM

$10 per person

Located in Room 813

A hands-on workshop where you learn how to make kombucha at home, how to care for your SCOBY and the health benefits of incorporating kombucha in your life. Participants will also sample various infused kombuchas. A kombucha kit will be available for sale for those interested. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.

SHRUBS WORKSHOP

Learn how to make old-fashioned shrubs at home using fruit and herbs. Participants will sample and take a small jar of shrubs home. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.

KIMCHI WORKSHOP

Join us for a hands-on workshop in which participants will make a small jar of kimchi and learn about the benefits of this fermented delicacy. Class lasts between 45-60 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.

FERMENTED VEGETABLES WORKSHOP

In this workshop, you will learn how simple it is to ferment your own vegetables at home, how to include them in your meals, and their health benefits. Learn how to make milk kefir from kefir grains and how to make kefir cheese. Participants will take home their own kefir grains so they can get started at home. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.

Jun Tea is similar to kombucha, feeds on honey rather than sugar. Participants will learn about the history and health benefit, and take home their own SCOBY so they can make Jun Tea at home. Limited to 16 participants per class.

Mead, or “honey wine,” is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey with water and various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. Join Golden Coast Mead as they demonstrate the steps for mead making. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.
