Touch and smell the various stages of sourdough bread baking. Learn how to feed your starter, turn, knead and form the dough and taste freshly baked sourdough bread. Located in the lower level of the Fermentation Market.

 

KOMBUCHA WORKSHOP

Located in the Spanish Courtyard Foyer

A hands-on workshop on how to make kombucha at home, the health benefits and caring for your SCOBY. Participants will also sample various infused kombuchas. A kombucha kit will be available for sale for those interested. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 15 participants per class.

Toast with Tina is an opportunity to discuss fermentation in its entirety. She will cover different types of ferments, their health benefits, how to troubleshoot your reactions, how to introduce it to your life, and our future endeavors for our farm. We will provide a variety of samples of fermented foods and drinks. Limited to 30 people per session. $6 per person.

This is a 1.5 hour session where participants will learn various methods of making winter shrubs and fire ciders that have been used as traditional folk remedies in various cultures. These drinks are infused with powerful anti-microbial, decongestant, and circulatory herbs and spices to help boost the immune system, stimulate digestion, and warm up on cold days. Class size limited to 25 participants.

Join us for an exploration of Jun Tea and it's many potential uses.  What is Jun Tea?  What are the benefits?  How can I make my own?  All of these questions will be answered in addition to a demonstration of making cultured ketchup using jun tea as the base. Participants will each take home a jun SCOBY.
