BREAD TALK (SOURDOUGH EXPERIENCE)

Located in the Main Lobby

Touch and smell the various stages of sourdough bread baking. Learn how to feed your starter, turn, knead and form the dough and taste freshly baked sourdough bread. Located in the lower level of the Fermentation Market.

 

KOMBUCHA WORKSHOP

11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM

$10 per person

Located in the 800's rooms

A hands-on workshop where you learn how to make kombucha at home, how to care for your SCOBY and the health benefits of incorporating kombucha in your life. Participants will also sample various infused kombuchas. A kombucha kit will be available for sale for those interested. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.

SHRUB WORKSHOP

11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM

$15 per person

Located in the 800's rooms

Shrubs are fermented beverages that are both refreshing and healthy. In this workshop, you will learn how to make old-fashioned shrubs at home using fruit and herbs and the health benefits of incorporating shrubs in your life. Participants will sample various shrubs and take home a small jar of shrub. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.

KIMCHI WORKSHOP

Join us for a hands-on workshop on how to make your own kimchi and learn about the health benefits. Participants will also take home a small jar of kimchi. Class lasts between 45-60 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.

FERMENTED VEGETABLES WORKSHOP

In this workshop, you will learn how simple it is to ferment your own vegetables at home, how to apply them in your meals and the health benefits. Participants will make and take a small jar of fermented vegetables home. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.

MILK KEFIR + KEFIR CHEESE WORKSHOP

Learn about milk kefir and its remarkable health benefits. In this workshop, you will learn how to make milk kefir using kefir grains and how to take care of your grains. For those who are more adventurous, we will show how you can use leftover milk kefir to make kefir cheese. Participants will take home a small jar of kefir grains to start making their own kefir. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.

INTRO TO WATER KEFIR WORKSHOP

Water Kefir is a powerhouse of probiotics that only requires mineral rich water and sugar to keep the grains happy and healthy. With a fast fermentation time, large probiotic matrix, and a light yet fizzy body, water Kefir is something not only healthy but refreshing to add to your regimen. Join us for an hour of instructions, discussion of health benefits, and a Q&A all about Water Kefir. Limited to 16 participants per class.

INTRO TO JUN TEA WORKSHOP

Jun Tea, a close and seemingly more gentle relative of Kombucha, feeds on honey rather than sugar. Join us for a journey through the history, health benefit, and basic instruction and recipe to brew your own Jun tea at home. Each participant will receive a SCOBY (Symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) so they can start their own Jun at home. Limited to 16 participants per class.

FIRE CIDER WORKSHOP

Fire cider is a spicy vinegar that herbalists have used as a favorite wintertime remedy and to ward off illness for decades. Participants will make a pint size jar which will be good for use for up to a year if stored in the refrigerator. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.

GREEN TEA BREWING WORKSHOP

Learn about the remarkable properties of green tea and why we should drink green tea every day. In this workshop, you will learn about the nuances of brewing green tea and how different ways of brewing can affect the taste and the health benefit. Participants will have the opportunity to brew on their own or together with a partner. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers.
